Trekking between Timanfaya Volcanoes in a small group

A stunning hike through lava fields and around volcanos. Get ready to learn plenty about Lanzarote’s natural history!

We had a brilliant morning hiking around various volcanoes. Erik is friendly, good-humoured and a fantastic guide who is extremely knowledgeable about the volcanoes and various types of volcanic rock/lava formations. We learnt so much in just a few hours, helping us to appreciate the amazing ways in which Lanzarote and the other Canary Islands were formed. We had a lovely pit stop for some delicious local snacks too. Erik could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lanzarote :)

It was an interesting experience and we learned a lot along the way thanks to a knowledge tour guide, however, the operator of this activity need to update the description to state that water is not included. I took limited supply of water having read the description and knowing that it would be provided but it wasn’t. Walking in 32 degrees knowing that I was running out of water made me even thirstier. I get that carrying water for everyone is not feasible but the guide could have offered it at the end of the walk if only they had a car to store it in. Misrepresentation is what it was.

My children (8 & 12) and I joined Lavatrekking tour with our guide, Erik, who was amazing! He was very nice, kind, and knowledgeable. He gave us a very comprehensive history talk of the island and was very passionate about it. We walked 8K around a volcano reaching to the top of its crater. The views along the way were amazing too! We stopped for a snack provided by him (different cheese, bread, crackers, olives, mojo picón, and almond biscuits with some local wine). He was very kind to pick us up and drop off to our hotel since we didn't have a car. I would highly recommend this tour with Erik!

This trekking tour was done by a friendly and dynamic guide with lots of stories to tell about the area and the island, also giving many useful recommendations to do on the island!

Sandra greeted us like an old friend and nothing was too much trouble, she even collected us from our villa. Our guide on arrival at the national park was knowledgeable and helpful. We learnt loads about the island and the volcanoes history. The picnic in the crater was a perfect end to the excursion.

Me and my friend did the late afternoon hike and it was a great experience. Sandra and her daughter Ava were fantastic guides. Full of friendliness, energy, and fun. Throughout the whole 8km low difficulty hike they pointed out and explained various interesting things and answering any questions the group had with enthusiasm and passion. Their knowledge of the park, volcanoes and Lanzarote was evident and excellently conveyed. The park itself is a beautiful otherworldly place. It really feels like you’re trekking through an almost alien world or middle- earth at times. Stopping for a short picnic with some tasty home made snacks and Canarian wine provided by Sandra was the icing on the cake. I can wholeheartedly recommend trekking with Sandra if you’re at all interested in visiting the park.

Wonderful experience in an amazing environment. The trecking was not hard physically and there were lots of stops since Sandra, our guide, was giving us lots of interesting information about the island and the volcanos. She was the best and made the experience unique. Just make sure you double check the starting time (ours in January started at 3pm rather than 4pm as indicated by Viator).

Great hike! Loved the guide. She offered to drop us off back at the cruise ship which we really appreciated!
